Charlbury Primary School

Assemblies

Our assemblies underpin our school values at Charlbury. Through the use of the SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) materials children engage with issues such as developing self-esteem, friendships, life changes and bullying. Other issues covered include topics such as healthy lifestyles, learning to learn and community matters.

There are also opportunities for all classes to present assemblies to the whole school on topics they have been covering in class such as World Peace, Harvest, Rememberance and World Book Day. Parents are sometimes invited to attend on these occasions.  At the end of the academic year we hold a special Leavers' Assembly for our Year 6 pupils to celebrate their time at Charlbury School.

On Friday afternoons we hold our special Smile Award Assembly which gives us the opportunity to celebrate children’s successes and achievements that week with certificates and awards.
